For Mac and Linux?

Hey,

I'm interested in using OP for my small NGO, but some staff have Intel Macs and one runs Ubuntu. Does anyone plan to develop standalone versions for either of those anytime soon (with Mac being the priority)?

Sorry, I'm not an IT specialist. Please give further instructions. I installed Mono, and opened the OP .tar.gz archive. Then what? Double-clicking 'install' doesn't work.

Generally, is installing and/or using this program likely to require a lot of technical expertise? I don't mind learning some new stuff, but I can't spend weeks on it.

Hi zizajaun,

are you trying to install openpetra on a Linux or Mac?

You need to execute each command contained in install file manually.
So what you could do is opening the "install"-file in an editor and copy&paste each command into your terminal-window and execute it there.

I know this is quite complicated but at the moment we don't provide an easier way. Perhaps there'll be a debian-package soon.

I'm trying to install on a Mac (10.6.7).

I opened the Install file in a text editor, but I'm afraid it seems too complicated for me at the moment. There were some example commands for Debian, but it wasn't obvious to me what I was supposed to do - it didn't seem to just be a matter of cutting and pasting into Terminal. I may be able to figure it out if I spent enough time on it, but I don't have that much at the moment, and am not likely to soon. I guess I'll just have to wait till there is a proper installer for Mac.

if you have a high interest in the installer for the Mac, you could also pay someone to create it. Just ask in this forum...
