Sending bug info via mail or to mantis

Hi everybody,

I saw that there already exists in Ict.Petra.Client.App.Core.UnhandledExceptionDialog.cs a button btnClick to send the ErrorMessages as a mail.
(But the button is set to invisible).

How should this happen in the future? Should users be able to send ErrorMessages to the development team?
Should these mails also include the 2 log-files right away?

Or should ErrorMessages be sent to mantis directly? This perhaps would blow up manits. Or we could set all bugs transmitted by users first to private and then a developer can set them to visible in manits (or something like that).

On the Client Main Menu in the section Help there also exists a field "Bug Report" which can be found in D:\openpetra\bzr\work\csharp\ICT\Petra\Client\app\MainWindow\MainWindow-generated but this button is disabled aswell.

Is anybody of the developers working on this at the moment?

Hello Joachim,

this button can be enabled by a Service provider or someone who is able to provide support for his users.
This cannot be done at the moment by OM (to external users, perhaps OM will enable the button for the use in the OM offices).

And the Open source community is too small yet to provide this service.

In my personal opinion, the Open Source community cannot provide commercial support and should allow commercial service providers to make some money with paid services, so that the ongoing development of OpenPetra can be secured by people who are able to make their living with their work on OpenPetra. This is not the case yet, but my dream for the long-term.

Yes, this does make sense.

So am I right that the implementation work about mailing bugs will be done once it is more clear who can provide the support?
