some time ago while translating the template I noticed that many items appear twice, triple etc. They then only differ in some few characters like &.
For translators it would be quite annoying to translate an item several times – just because one additional character is different. By the way if 2 translators translate two items that only differ in fe. & they probably translate it differently - translation consistency would be a problem here.
So I thought about a way to improve this:
Let’s take an example:
“Description” appears three times: "Description", "Description:" and "description".
In a further discussion on this forum we already decided that these 3 items should persist in the template as in some Asian countries they would be of different meaning (if I remember well, it actually was a comment from ThiasG).
So I would like to create a second template that contains "Description" only once. This then would be translated by human translators. Afterwards a script would generate automatically the other 2 items ("Description:" and "description").
As a first step I’ve been analyzing the template for double, triple etc. items:

Obviously on working with the templates we should avoid loosing translations that have already been made in the past. ;-)
