I'm wondering if it would be possible to add comments to po-files.

I already had a look at the file in ..trunk\csharp\ICT\PetraTools\GenerateI18N but actually I'm not completely sure about where the respective Catalog.GetString("...") command is read by the program.
Would it be possible to add at the end of a Catalog.GetString("...")line a comment like this:
Catalog.GetString("...") ///this is a comment
This would then be added in template.pot (and later on launchpad) to facilitate the translatino progress.

Another solution would be having an extra file that then would be parsed. This file would contain a msgid and a comment.

When is actually a #, csharp-format added to the pot-file?
For example the following one:

#, csharp-format
msgid "'{0}' cannot be later or equal than '{1}'."
msgstr ""

I added

msgid "'{0}' cannot be later or equal than '{1}'."

to donottranslate.po
After executing "nant translation" this string doesn't appear any more in template.pot - but the comment still exists.
Why?
